The minimum "Shiny Boat Package" consists of a full external valet, followed by a monthly wash off each month for the next eleven months. The cost of this is £550+VAT for a 30' vessel......Seems to present excellent value for those customers preferring to spend their limited leisure time sailing and not scrubbing and cleaning.

On 6th December 2010, the British Marine Federation published their views on the EU Directive/30/EC requirement that, from 1st January 2011, all gas oil marketed for use in non-road mobile machinery, including Marine Vessels, contain no more that 10 milligrams of sulphur per kilogram of fuel.

From 1st January 2011 all gas oil sold for inland waterway vessels and recreational craft when used on inland waterways, must contain a higher FAME content than before. This will include the Solent. This may present a problem in older engines and various precautionary measures implemented by boat owners will help prevent potential issues.
